Jenny Weinstein McPhee, MS, LCSW
Founder and Clinical Director
Jenny is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in New York City, who specializes in individual, family, group and couples therapy, and is the owner of JMW Therapy, LLC.
Jenny received her clinical masters degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work. Jenny also completed an extensive post graduate training program at Ackerman Institute for Couples and Family Therapy, as well as the Beck Institite training for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Jenny specializes in treating those struggling with eating disorders, addictions and relationship issues, along with the anxiety and depression that is often comorbid with such presenting problems. Her treatment approach is tailored to each individual client's needs, but she uses primarily psychodynamic , CBT, DBT and relational therapy models.
Jenny has previously worked at Bellevue Hospital, The Renfrew Center of New York for Eating Disorders, and Serenity Recovery. Jenny has been on the board of the New York Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, as well as affiliated with Ackerman Institute for Couples and Family Therapy. Jenny is also a proud member of the NASW.
Allie Lewin Deehan, LCSW
Associate Therapist
Allie Lewin is an experienced clinician specializing in individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults at JMW Therapy. Allie received her Master’s degree from NYU Silver School of Social Work.
Allie has worked in a variety of treatment settings including private practice, sober living facilities, and community mental health centers. She is also a certified holistic health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Allie is passionate about helping individuals with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, interpersonal relationships, life transitions, and self-esteem related issues. In her work, Allie utilizes elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Allie believes therapy should be a nurturing and collaborative experience. She encourages open communication throughout the process and tailors treatment to most effectively achieve the individual’s unique set of goals.
Allie completed an extensive post graduate training program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychology, specializing in advanced Eating Disorder Training.
Roopa Ramkumar, MS, LCSW
Associate Therapist
Roopa is an experienced clinician specializing in adolescents, and young adults at JMW Therapy. Roopa received her Masters Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work, and was a Postgraduate Fellow/Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapist at the Feeling Good Center for CBT. Roopa completed a two year advanced training program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in the Integrated Treatment of Eating Disorders.
Roopa believes that life throws many challenges at us, and that everyone can benefit from having a non-judgemental and empathetic guide who can help them through these challenges.
Having served as a clinician at a leading eating disorder treatment center in New York City, The Renfrew Center, Roopas experience lies in treating eating disorders and disordered eating, anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma. Given that our relationships with others and with ourselves are often at the core of these concerns, she will examine both in your work together. Roopa has also witnessed how gender identity, sexuality, and culture can impact self-image, and strive to be an inclusive therapist who can help you explore these concerns. She uses a person-centered approach, viewing her clients as the experts in their story while utilizing her expertise in cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and dialectical behavior therapy to help you make the changes you want to see.
Katherine Weinstein, MS, LMSW
Associate Therapist
Katherine is a clinician specializing in individual psychotherapy for adolescents and young adults at JMW Therapy, after having received her Master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Katherine is currently attending an advanced training program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, specializing in the Integrated Treatment of Eating Disorders.
Katherine specializes in treating those struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and relationship issues. While each client’s treatment is individualized based on need, she typically uses a combination of psychodynamic, CBT, DBT and relational therapy models. Katherine relies on insight gained through personal experiences to help others identify maladaptive thought processes and to create and maintain healthy coping mechanisms.
After pursuing a business degree, Katherine worked directly with the top social media platforms in the world, measuring the impact of advertising. She saw first-hand the impact that social media and technology can have on our sense of self and body image, and takes a special interest in how this impacts her clients.
Katherine has worked in several clinical setting, including a Charter School in New York City, where she gained valuable experience working with elementary-aged children, as well as at The Renfrew Center, where she specialized in eating disorders. Katherine works with individuals, couples, families, and young children.
