Jenny Weinstein McPhee, MS, LCSW

Founder & Clinical Director

Jenny is an experienced clinician and Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in New York City, who specializes in individual, family, group and couples therapy, and is the founder and clinical director of JMW Therapy, LLC.​​​​​​

Jenny received her clinical masters degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work. Jenny also completed an extensive post graduate training program at Ackerman Institute for Couples and Family Therapy, as well as the Beck Institite training for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Jenny specializes in treating those struggling with eating disorders, addictions and relationship issues, along with the anxiety and depression that often accompanies these conditions. Her treatment approach is tailored to each individual client's needs, but she uses primarily psychodynamic , CBT, DBT and relational therapy modalities. Jenny works with her clients to instill confidence and security back into their lives; she will help empower you to implement the changes you’ve always wanted to make.

Jenny has previously worked at the pediatric and adolescent psychiatry inpatient unit at Bellevue Hospital, The Renfrew Center of New York for Eating Disorders, and Serenity Recovery for Addictions. Jenny has been on the Board of the New York Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, as well as affiliated with Ackerman Institute for Couples and Family Therapy. Jenny is also a proud member of the NASW.

Cole Griesedieck, MS, LCSW

Cole Griesedieck is a clinician specializing in individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults at JMW Therapy. Cole received her Master’s Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work.

Cole is passionate about helping individuals with anxiety, depression, OCD, interpersonal relationships, and self-esteem issues. In her work, Cole utilizes elements of cognitive behavior therapy, exposure therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. It is important to Cole that her clients leave therapy with a tool-box of skills that they can use in the moment to ease symptoms of depression/anxiety. Cole draws on CBT to help patients identify and reframe maladaptive thought patterns with the intention of feeling better and living more fulfilling lives. 

Cole has worked in a variety of treatment settings, including private practice, hospitals, and in the school system. Having spent several years of her career working inpatient at Bellevue Hospital, Cole is also extensively trained by the best in mental illness, anxiety and interventions.

Katherine Weinstein, MS, LMSW

​Katherine is an experienced clinician specializing in individual psychotherapy for adolescents and young adults at JMW Therapy. Katherine received her Master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Katherine is currently attending William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology for their advanced training program of Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions.

Katherine specializes in treating those struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and relationship issues. While each client’s treatment is individualized based on need, she typically uses a combination of psychodynamic, CBT, DBT and relational therapy modalities. Katherine relies on insight gained through personal experiences to help others identify maladaptive thought processes and to create and maintain healthy coping mechanisms, and is passionate about helping clients to find a happier version of themselves.

After pursuing a business degree, Katherine worked directly with the top social media platforms in the world, measuring the impact of advertising. She saw first-hand the impact that social media and technology can have on our sense of self and body image, and takes a special interest in how this impacts her clients.

Katherine has worked in several clinical setting, including a Charter School in New York City, where she gained valuable experience working with elementary-aged children, as well as at The Renfrew Center, where she specialized in eating disorders. Katherine works with individuals, couples, families, and young children. Katherine is a proud member of the NASW and the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals.

Katie Dewey, LMSW

Katie received her master’s degree from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and is currently a candidate at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies’ 4-year Adult Training Program in Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy. Additionally, Katie spent a year studying eating disorder treatment interventions at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where she treated patients with a broad range of diagnoses, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, body dysmorphia, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and somatic disorders. She also holds a degree as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) from the Nutritional Therapy Association. 

 Katie is a warm, supportive and non-judgmental clinician who believes that therapy is a process grounded in a high level of trust, respect and integrity. Because she knows it takes an immense amount of courage to seek treatment and to explore vulnerabilities, she approaches her work with humility, gratitude and humanness. Katie favors a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approach to help patients not only reduce symptoms, but also address the underlying root causes of the issue. Katie primarily works with clients struggling with eating disorders or body image issues, low self-esteem, family, relationships, work stress, anxiety, difficulty managing moods/depression, somatization and perfectionism. 

 Prior to transitioning into psychotherapy, Katie spent many years working in a consulting capacity at various companies, including Fortune 100 firms and startups. She understands the immense pressure that comes with balancing work and life and wants to help you make space to prioritize your health, wellbeing and happiness.    

Mollie Smetana, LMSW

Mollie Smetana is a clinician specializing in individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults at JMW Therapy. Mollie received her master’s degree from NYU Silver School of Social Work.

Mollie is passionate about helping individuals with anxiety, depression, body image, and self-esteem issues. In her work, Mollie utilizes elements of cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic theory, and mindfulness. Mollie is a compassionate, comforting, and non-judgmental clinician who believes that therapy is beneficial for personal growth and confidence. She understands that starting therapy is a great first step in feeling better about ourselves and living a more fulfilling life. She knows that taking that first step to start therapy can be overwhelming and has dedicated her practice to helping every client she has feel safe and comfortable opening up. Mollie works to reduce symptoms of anxiety/depression by finding the coping skills that work with her patient’s everyday life. She also works with clients to address the root cause of the problem and understand their maladaptive behavior patterns. Mollie strives to help clients feel good about themselves from the inside out. 

Mollie has been a dedicated mental health advocate by working in multiple non-profit settings and has now transitioned into psychotherapy after working in a private practice with adolescents and adults.
